Tim Mapoles is the founder of Active Aspen. He has been working with kids for over twenty years and holds a BA in psychology from the University of Denver. After working at numerous camps throughout the Roaring Fork Valley Tim saw a need for additional child care opportunities and founded Active Aspen. Tim specializes in fun outdoor activities. He is certified as a Wilderness First Responder, infant and child CPR and epi-pen administrator and general first aid. Tim speaks fluent Spanish and advanced Portuguese and also provides tutoring services
Casey Quam is a 25-year-old snowboard instructor by winter and horseback riding guide by summer. Casey loves teaching children's snowboarding lessons, and has her Children's Specialist 1 certification through the American Association of Snowboard Instructors. Casey's been babysitting since she was a tween! She's worked in childcare jobs for more than a decade, including as a swim lesson teacher, swim team head coach, YMCA soccer coach, and Sunday school teacher.
Greta Brown grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and graduated from the University of Vermont in 2020. She has lived in Aspen since 2021, and currently works as Marketing Manager at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. As a babysitter and nanny, she finds joy in connecting kids with the outdoors, firmly believing that children thrive when they have the opportunity to be creative, curious, and adventurous outside. Greta is from a family of six kids and has been babysitting for as long as she can remember! She has been a nanny for various ages from infants to tweens, was a live-in nanny in the Hamptons for a summer, and has served in various youth engagement roles including camp counseling, classroom assistance, and middle school mentorship. With a deep passion for writing and reading, she also enjoys tutoring children and helping them recognize their own potential!
